Brian Higgins, left, and Tim and Reece MacDonald were just three of many members of the Zion Presbyterian Church congregation who attended the Lenten & Lunches event at Central Christian Church on March 6.
It was the fourth in the series of Wednesday noontime services organized by the Prince Street Churches. Earlier ones were held at Trinity United (Feb. 14), The Salvation Army (Feb. 21) and St. Paul’s (Feb. 28). The final two services will be held at First Baptist (March 13) and Zion (March 20).
The Lenten & Lunches series is similar to the Advent services held before Christmas, and like the Advent services, they are well attended by members of the six participating churches. The March 6 service had as its theme “I am the good shepherd.” Suitably, the good folks of Central Christian served up shepherd’s pie as the meal.
The services are open to all members of the public.
