Effective November 7, in consideration of our vulnerable population, and in the wider interests of public health, all adults attending services of worship or other activities at Zion will require proof of vaccination. Those with proof of medical exemption will require masks. Our live-stream and on-line services continue to be available to all.
This announcement is very difficult for some to hear, and was a difficult decision for Session to make. It is made not to hurt or to exclude, but rather to take seriously our responsibility to provide a safe and responsible environment in which to gather, particularly in services of worship, where we are unmasked once in our seats, including while singing.
As we have in the past, we again encourage those who are able to be vaccinated to do so, not only for your own safety, but in the interest of the health and well-being of the wider public, in helping to stop not only the spread of Coronavirus but also to slow its variants.
May we all, in the many aspects of our life, consider the following Scripture from Philippians: “In humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”
– Philippians 2:3,4
Public Health Protocols have been clarified – masks are required for entrance and exit, but can be removed once you are seated. No masks are required for singing! Thanks be to God!
