Now that we’re able to worship at church together on Sunday mornings, we would like to extend a warm welcome back to families with young children. While we hope to return to more traditional formats of Sunday School in the near future, in response to the current public health recommendations, we will not be returning to our traditional Sunday School program in September. With that in mind, we recognize that attending church with young children can be challenging and so we are planning to support families in worship in three specific ways.
1. Families are welcome in the sanctuary
We will have children’s worship bulletins and packs of crayons and pencil crayons available at each entrance on Sunday mornings. These children’s worship bulletins have beautiful colouring pages and activities that follow the liturgical calendar. We also want to remind parents (and the rest of the congregation) that the sound of wriggly, whispering children in the sanctuary is a joy and a blessing to our church. We look forward to their joyful presence!
2. Families are welcome to use the family rooms
For those families who would prefer to worship in a more child-friendly space, we have two family rooms available. These rooms, complete with comfy seats and a direct view of the sanctuary, with the (volume adjustable!) sounds of the service streamed in, can be reserved in advance when booking your seat through our website. Please add a note requesting the use of this space when registering your seats through our website.
3. Families are welcome to join the service via livestream from the youth room
We will also be live-streaming the service to our beautiful youth room upstairs. Families can reserve a table in the youth room when registering for seats through our website. A parent or guardian must remain with their children in this space. Each table will have worship bulletins, colouring pages and activities for children to work on while joining the service via livestream. This room will allow multiple families to join the worship service together while physically distancing in a more child-friendly space. Please add a note reserving a table in this space when registering your seats through our website.
