Reading and Prayer – May 22

Reading: Ephesians 1:15-17

I have heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people. So I never stop being grateful for you, as I mention you in my prayers. I ask the glorious Father and God of our Lord Jesus Christ to give you his Spirit. The Spirit will make you wise and let you understand what it means to know God.

We praise you, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for all the blessings you have so generously showered upon us.You have brought us into your family of faith, in your love and mercy for us. Your grace has enriched us beyond measure, in the example and ministry of your Son. Your Holy Spirit has opened our hearts and minds to you, giving us the privilege of knowing you. As part of your divine purpose, our lives have direction and meaning. You have brought us into your Kingdom as citizens together, where we might join with our brothers and sisters in the faith, to do your will on earth as it is in heaven. We praise you, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! Amen.
