Reading and Prayer – May 11

Reading: 2 Corinthians 12:2-6

I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know—God knows. And I know that this man—whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, but God knows—was caught up to paradise and heard inexpressible things, things that no one is permitted to tell. I will boast about a man like that, but I will not boast about myself, except about my weaknesses.

Father, I thank You that because of who we are in Christ Jesus, we do not have to be filled with despair and worry over the things going on in the world today. I thank You Lord, that You are here to protect us – there is no need to be fearful.

You said Lord, that we would have trials and tribulations while we are here, but You said to be of good cheer for You have overcome the world for us; You have equipped us with everything we need, and there is wonderful joy ahead even though we must endure these trials for a while. When it’s time to go home, You have prepared a place just for us. You said, “In My Father’s house are many mansions. If it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you…” and You have promised never to abandon us like orphans. You have promised to return for us. For this glimpse of heaven: Thank You Jesus! Amen and Amen.
