Reading and Prayer – January 25

Romans 8:29-30

God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.

Father, thank you for calling us into you family, and uniting us with your Son, Jesus. May we be united not only in our standing before you, but in our standing with one another, united in your love and in our common effort to share your love with all the world. May our words be your words, our deeds your actions, our reputation that of people who serve God with true heart and mind. May all we are, all we say, all we do, bring you glory, in Jesus Christ our Lord; Amen.
