Reading and Prayer for Tuesday November 3

Paul ends his letter to his beloved congregations in Ephesus with a beautiful benediction – and an expression of his undying love.

Ephesians 6:23-24
Peace to the brothers and sisters, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.

Prayer

Holy God, let me read and know your Word without distorting it with my scattered thoughts. Lead me away from the false truths of the world, from whatever values are currently popular in my society, from the harangues of other people who follow their own theologies and philosophies; lead me to your plain and eternal truth. Let me come to you as a child, emptied of the wisdom of the world, so that I may be filled with the truth of the eternal Word.

May I go in peace, with God and with his other children, and may we love one another as Christ taught us. May I follow the example of good men and women, and may God comfort and help me and all who believe in Him, both in this world and in the world which is to come. Amen.
