Reading and Prayer – December 29

Luke 2:38-40

When Joseph and Mary had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth. And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him.

Prayer:

Father, we often forget about Mary and Joseph once Christmas is over. But again and again we read of their faithfulness to you, their dedication in making annual pilgrimage to Jerusalem, and above all their participation in raising Jesus in strength, wisdom and grace. We pray for the parents in our lives; in these challenging days, help them to find the strength, wisdom and grace to raise their children in the Christian faith, placing within their hearts the priority of worship and service to you. Amen.
