Reading and Prayer – April 23

Reading: 2 Corinthians 4:7-9

We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 8 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.

Prayer:

Lord, I know that you are faithful over all things, even in the hard dark times of my life. Help me not back away in hard dark times of my life. Help me not back away from you in my time of grief. Help me instead to lean into you and trust you, even when I do not understand Your ways.

I pray to you, keep my head above the waters of anguish and keep my feet from slipping off the ground of truth. Help me to see You in these harsh hard moments and to glorify You in my response. In Jesus name, Amen.
