Daily Reading and Prayer submitted by Flo Bell

Psalm 23
A psalm of David.

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord

Psalm 23 has been an important Bible passage for me through many valleys in life and always a great comfort.
This passage has been a favourite of many of family members including grandparents, parents and siblings.

Loving Heavenly Father thank you for being a constant Shepherd in my life through good times and darker valleys. I am always reminded of your constant presence, all knowing ready to use the rod and staff to keep me traveling in the right direction or push me back if I stray, and to offer forgiveness for my imperfections. Thank you for your loving care.
My prayer for our Church Family is; as we continue to walk through the present difficult times brought on by COVID-19, that you will bring us ever closer to you, to glorify you in all our thoughts and actions and that we listen to your guidance, trust and accept you as our good Shepherd and guide now and always.
In your holy name I pray.
